I find the number of configurations on strollers today fascinating if you do your homework you will only need to purchase one stroller for your twins or similar aged siblings because most of the strollers are designed to grow with your children.
Some strollers as you will see below can convert from a single stroller to a double stroller, to a complete travel system with infant car seats and or bassinets, and then they even go as far as making a glider board available for a third child, absolutely fantastic.
I never had the need for a bassinet with my son because he is above average size he fitted into most strollers with either a car seat or directly into the seat, however for those of you that are in the market for one I have reviewed a few of my favourites.
Easily one of the most versatile strollers available, converting from a single to a double stroller by adding a second seat which included with the added option of adding a car seat or bassinet or two car seats. If you have all the extra gadgets, it will offer you over 16 different seating options
– Handlebars adjustable to suit short or tall parents
– 12″ forever-air rear and 8″ lightweight front wheels with suspension
– Includes stroller, second seat, and second seat brackets
– Large storage basket
– Quite heavy
– No snack tray or cup holders (can be purchased separately)
You could even go as far as adding a glider board to offer a sit and stand option for a third child. All car seats, bassinets, and adapters needed to attach them purchased separately. Make sure you have all the parts you will need. If you have all the attachments, this stroller is suitable for infants and toddlers, a great buy and possibly the only stroller you will need to purchase as it grows with your children.
Where do I begin with this one? Multi-configurations allow you to accommodate two or three children with ease. Includes stroller, two seats, and a bassinet, all of which are interchangeable without the need for any extra parts or adapters making it not only versatile but practical as well.
– Compatible with MESA Infant Car Seat
– Easy one step fold
– Bassinet has a removable liner and boot cover for easy cleaning
– Front and rear wheel suspension
– With all the added extras it may be a bit heavy for some
If I go on ratings and reviews this is one of the best double strollers with bassinet option on the market today, it scores a solid 5 rating, I agree it is amazing, and I honestly had to be super critical to come up with a con. If you are looking for flexibility, comfort, safety and an all round smooth ride, then this is the stroller for you.
Baby Jogger has done it again with their City Mini GT double side by side stroller perfect for everyday use with accessories that convert it into a complete travel system by either attaching a car seat or bassinet.
– All terrain wheels
– Adjustable handlebars
– Large extendable canopies
– Hand operated brake
– Not compatible with all the major brand’s car seats
– Storage basket is small
If you aren’t like me that packs everything except the kitchen sink just to go for a quick walk around the neighborhood, then the small storage basket won’t be an issue for you. Car seat adapters are available for Baby Jogger, Cybex, maxi cosi, and some Graco models. As of yet, there is no adapter for Chicco, Uppababy, Britax and Peg Perego, Phil and Teds, there have been rumors that they may be available shortly, though.
The compact pram or bassinet can be purchased separately and is suitable for newborns up to six months if you have twins you can buy two bassinets. Without bassinet, each seat has a capacity of up to 50lbs making it suitable for infants to toddlers. An awesome everyday use stroller with quick and easy compact fold and glides over all terrains this one will stay on my radar.

When looking for a double side by side or tandem stroller that can accept one or two bassinets, please bear safety and strength in mind especially when you have the option of two bassinets. Make sure that the stroller you use is sturdy, after all, and it is going to be carrying your precious cargo around for years to come.
On a more serious note, considering the precious cargo, please consult a doctor before jogging with a newborn under three months old in the stroller to confirm the pros and cons of this so you can make an informed decision, to jog, or not jog.
