If you are an avid jogger with an infant, toddler or twins, it doesn’t have to mean the end of your daily jog, and you simply need to find the right jogging stroller that offers you and your children the best comfort. With all the different types and styles of strollers available today choosing the right stroller for you often seems like a daunting task, however, I have made it easier for you by reviewing and comparing some of my favorites. Having a bicycle-style hand brake offers you more control of your stroller especially in hilly areas.
2016 version of the Duallie Pro is the most deluxe version yet, modern three wheel design with large detachable canopies.Loads of storage options, air, filled tires and 5 point safety harness are only a few of the positives of this feature packed Stroller.
– Remote bicycle-style hands brake
– Front lockable swivel wheel
– Wrist strap
– Reclining seats
– Car seat adaptor included
This is easily one of the best double jogging strollers available today, the all terrain wheels will keep you jogging with ease on all surfaces. Your stroller is convertible into a travel system by purchasing a car seat adaptor compatible with Peg Perego, Britax and more. The duallie Pro has received extraordinarily high ratings and great reviews.
Unfortunately, the ever popular expedition jogging stroller which has great features is trumped by the kolcraft sprint pro in this category because the expedition from baby trend doesn’t have a handbrake.
What does the kolcraft offer?
– Permanently fixed, wobble-free, front wheel
– Handle is height adjustable
– Large storage basket
– Removable snack tray and cup holder
– Some moms find the straps hard to adjust
This stroller was built entirely with the jogger in mind, with 16-inch air-filled fixed wheels with precision ball bearings, and the handlebar is height adjustable, reflective wheel trim, handbrake and safety tether and all terrain wheels simply glide over all surfaces.
I am not a huge fan of comparing strollers to each other because I feel each one has its own good and bad points. When looking at baby trend vs. Schwinn, for example, both have great jogging strollers both single and double on offer, however, the baby trend doesn’t have a handbrake and that is why Schwinn came out on top in this category.
– Comfortable and slip resistant rubber grip
– Dual trigger fold
– 16” air filled tires
– Parent tray
– Doesn’t accept any infant car seat
Built for speed the modern aerodynamic design, with large air filled tires, rear wheel dual shock absorbers and fixed front wheel the Schwinn Arrow will have you jogging in style and comfort, while your little one listens to his or her favorite nursery rhymes with the canopy mounted mp3 speaker.
Sadly, in the category of jogging strollers with hand brakes, Graco comes off second best because of the lack of handbrake. The Chicco TRE Performance Jogging Stroller, however, does have a handbrake 12” front wheel and 16” rear air-filled tires with adjustable FlexCore suspension which gives you a choice of soft ride for bumpy strolling or a more firm ride for jogging.
– Can accept infant car seat
– Large canopy
– Adjustable 5 point safety harness
– Hand-activated swivel lock
– Weighs 34.5lbs
Removable seat and bumper bar with integrated KeyFit car seat attachment make it easily convertible into a travel system for your infant by adding a matching Keyfit car seat. Adjustable handlebar and easy to maneuver on all types of terrain, the Tre won’t disappoint, it’s sturdy, suitable from the age of 6 months to 50lbs and self-standing compact fold definitely makes this stroller a great choice.
The advantage of a front swivel wheel is that your stroller is a jogger but can also be used for everyday use by unlocking the swivel wheel.
The Summit X3 offers you a remote swivel lock conveniently situated on the handle bars.
– Seats have near flat recline
– Large adjustable canopies
– Padded seats
– 5 point safety harness
– Handlebars not adjustable
All terrain wheels with bicycle-style handbrake, and front lockable swivel wheel make this without a doubt in my mind the best, most convenient combination double jogging stroller, not only is it a perfect jogger and everyday use stroller, but you can also add one or two bassinets to accommodate your newborns.
Moms and dads, please check with a medical professional before jogging with your newborn baby, I am in no way a medical professional, but I am a mom and as a mom I would not advise jogging with children under the age of at least 6 months, no matter how perfect your stroller is or how smooth the ride may feel for you their little bodies just aren’t ready to handle been shaken around. I personally didn’t take my son on longer, rougher terrains until after he was over a year old.
Don’t go jogging after dark with your child in a stroller, ensure that you have reflective clothing and strips on your stroller for best visibility. Stay away from deserted areas or high traffic areas. Remember to keep a pump with you at all times should a wheel or wheels deflate you don’t want to be left stranded. Keep safe and most importantly enjoy your time out with your son, daughter or both.
